It is the capital of the Berber south, it is an ideal starting point for exploring the region and its villages. Its weekly market attracts locals and curious tourists, there are baskets, spices and Berber jewels. It is also a historical setting, when the city housed the battalion of the foreign legion and the famous "Bat AF." In the vicinity of the town we find the old the Ksour and Ghorfas used as old store houses which are clinging to the rocks and merging in other berber villages.
