Itinerary of the Hammam and South Tunisia Tour

DAY ITINERARY:DJERBA-MATMATA

  • Pick up from your hotel to Ajim village to take the Ferry to the mainland.
  • After the crossing of El Jorf strait, drive to Tijma, a superb troglodyte village near Matmata known for its underground dwellings dug into the mountainsides following well-structured secular architectural techniques.
  • We will be invited by a Berber family to discover the house components and the daily lifestyle of rural women.
  • We continue to El Hamma village famous for its sulphurated and chlorinated hot springs which are beneficial for treating several dermal diseases.

DAY ITINERARY:HAMMAM TIME AND DRIVE TO GABES

  • Arrival at the Hammam, the favorite place to relax and recharge your batteries, it gives the skin a second breath thanks to a steam bath that you’ll take while staying in the different hot rooms and which will allow you to relax your muscles, clean your skin and soak away tension, stress, and toxins.
  • Then, get inside your private cabin equipped with a small pool of hot thermal water to relax and free your mind and body.
  • You can then make a massage to remove dead skin and other impurities using a traditional glove called “Kessa” composed of soft natural fibers extracted from a dried exotic fruit ideal for a light peeling.
  • Such experience will allow you to boost your body’s blood circulation, tone your skin, and make you feel rejuvenated.
  • After the Hammam, drive to Gabes city to enjoy a typical lunch of traditional local cuisine.
  • In the afternoon, visit Gabes, an oasis city and former crossroads of Saharan caravans, and stroll around in the Ancient Spice Market.
  • Panoramic visit to the amazing maritime oasis to discover the three-level cultures, the production of pomegranates and Henna plants used as a vegetal tint for Berber women’s Hair and hands in the traditional wedding.
  • Drive back to Djerba, drop off in your hotel, and end of our services.
