DAY ITINERARYDJERBA-MATMATA-TAMEZRET-TOUJANE-DJERBA

  • Early departure from your selected hotel or location to Ajim village to take the Ferry and drive towards the dry land.
  •  After crossing the El Jorf Strait, drive to the Dhahar massif discovering wonderful landscapes.
  • Arrival to Matmata, an amazing Berber Troglodyte village known for its dwell cave houses dug in the mountains.
  • Visit a local Berber family to discover the underground architecture and the daily life among Berber women.
  •  We continue to Tamezret, an ancient Berber village built on the peak of a mountain overlooking a stunning view, wander tour in the village crossing the ancient narrow streets till the small white mosque.
  • Then, we go to “L’AUBERGE DE TAMEZRET”, an ancient dwell cave Berber house which offers a gastronomical service of high quality and luxury accommodation with traditional architectural style.
  • You will be warmly welcomed by the owners, a Tunisian-European couple invites you to learn the most popular Tunisian local dishes and delicious recipes enjoying a personalized cooking class and living an original experience.
  •  The course will start with an introduction to Tunisian cuisine and spices used in the different recipes, then you start the practice following the tips and techniques of the Chef.
  • Once the dishes are ready, enjoy a delicious homecooked lunch of the traditional Berber cuisine in a typical setting.
  • After a tasty digestive mint tea, visit the small museum of traditional Berber dresses in tamezret where you’ll discover an amazing collection of dresses woven by the women of the village.
  •  Drive to Toujane, a spectacular Berber village nestled in a mountainous landscape and offering a breathtaking view.
